Palani Hill National Park

Palani Hills National Park is a protected wildlife area shares its borders with Kurinjimala Sanctuary and Eravikulam National Park in Kerala. Spread over an area of around 736.87 square km., the park was established in the year 2007. The name ‘Palani’ is derived from a temple town that is located at the base of the Palani hills. Large meadows, dense jungle, waterfalls and species are the most attractive points in the park.

The national park consists of a varied range of flora and fauna. Very rich and dense forestry attracts thousands of people to come here again and again. The extensive availability of plants provides a natural habitat for the wildlife. It provides an ideal habitat of wild boars, Nilgiri Tahr, grizzled giant Squirrel, reptiles and Indian elephants. Waters of Palani hills is home to variety of fishes and other aquatic animals.

This Park promotes eco-tourism by organizing adventure activities for tourists through trekking, hiking, camping, mountaineering, rock climbing, bird watching and wildlife safaris. One can enjoy the scenic beauty of flora and fauna by strolling in this womb of Mother Nature. Bear shoal fall, fairy fall, silver cascade, Neptune fall, Pambar fall are some of the 25 most striking waterfalls throughout the park. Travelers often halt here to capture their picturesque sights.
