The Mahaparinirvan Express is a special Buddhist Circuit tourist train covering the important Buddhist religious destinations by the special tourist train. The sacred journey visits Lumbini (where the Buddha was born), Bodhgaya (where he became enlightened), Sarnath (where he first preached) and Kushinagar (where he passed away and achieved nirvana).

MAHAPARINIRVAN EXPRESS TOUR ITINERARY

The Mahaparinirvan Express journey planned 8 day tour travels through prominent Buddhist pilgrim destinations of Bodhgaya, Varanasi, Sarnath, Lumbini, Sravasti, besides the city of the Taj Mahal, Agra. The detailed itinerary of the train is:

Day 01 Delhi - Gaya (990 kms)

Depart from Safdarjung railway station New Delhi in the afternoon to Gaya.

Day 02 Gaya - Bodhgaya (16 kms)

Arrive Gaya in the morning. Visit Bodhgaya. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03 Bodhgaya - Nalanda - Rajgir - Gaya

Visit Rajgir & Nalanda. Depart for Varanasi in the evening.

Day 4 Varanasi - Sarnath - Gorakhpur

Arrive Varanasi in the morning. Visit Sarnath. Visit the Ganges for the evening Aarti. Depart for Gorakhpur in the evening.

Day 05/06 Gorakhpur – Kushinagar

Arrive at Gorakhpur Railway Station and goes to Kushinagar. Visit Mahaparinirvan Temple, Rambhar Stupa, Mata Kutir Temple etc.

Kushinagar - Lumbini – Gorakhpur

Early morning tea and breakfast at the hotel and check-out of the Hotel and proceed to Lumbini (Nepal) by bus. Arrive Lumbini and visit Lumbini including Maya Devi Temple, Ashokan Pillar and Pushkarni lake. Depart for Gorakhpur.

Note:- Day-5 & Day-6 program may be interchanged.

Day 07 Gonda - Sravasti - Gonda - Agra

Arrive Gonda in the morning. Visit Sravasti. Depart from Gonda to Agra in the evening.

Day 08 Agra - Delhi

Early morning tea and breakfast on-board and then proceed for Seven Wonders of Modern world, The Taj Mahal. Depart for Delhi in the afternoon. Arrival and check-out at the Safdarjung Railway Station Delhi at approximately 18:30 hrs.
